Classification of Water Meters

2023-07-26

Water meters can be divided into the following types according to different classification standards:
1. Classification based on usage:
Residential Water Meter: Installed in a residence or household to measure the household's water consumption.
Commercial Water Meter: Installed in a commercial building or establishment to measure commercial water consumption.
Industrial water meters: Installed in industrial production facilities to measure industrial water consumption.

2. Classification based on working principle:
Rotor-type water meter: use water flow to drive the rotor to rotate, and determine the water consumption by measuring the rotation speed of the rotor.
Ultrasonic Water Meter: Calculates water consumption by sending ultrasonic pulses to measure the speed and direction of water flow.
Static water meter: does not rely on mechanical movement, and uses static technology to measure water consumption, such as magnetic induction water meter.

3. Classification based on measurement accuracy:
Ordinary water meters: Generally used for general residential and commercial purposes, the measurement accuracy is relatively low.
High-precision water meter: used in occasions that require more accurate measurement, such as industrial production and large commercial buildings.

4. Classification based on connection mode:
Pulse output water meter: It can output electric pulse signal for remote monitoring and data collection.
Wireless communication water meter: use wireless technology to communicate with other equipment or systems to realize remote monitoring and data transmission.

5. Classification based on structure:
Flat water meter: Traditional water meter structure, mainly used for residential and commercial purposes.
Threaded water meter: relatively new structural design, with better leak-proof performance, suitable for harsh environmental conditions.

6. Based on material classification:
Copper water meter: Traditional water meter material, durable and has certain corrosion resistance.
Stainless steel water meter: It has better corrosion resistance and is suitable for special environments.

Plastic water meters: for specific occasions, such as water meters that measure very low flows.
